About Me
Renaissance man: a present-day man who has acquired profound knowledge or proficiency in more than one field.
I wouldn’t call myself a renaissance man… yet. But in a way, this is my life’s ambition. To learn, to grow, and to know a great deal about many things. I am somewhat the opposite of most modern day people who prefer to focus on one thing and excel at that speciality. After all, speciality breeds bigger paychecks.
I grew up in Lewiston, Idaho. After high school I joined the U.S. Air Force, and worked as an Electronic Laboratory Technician on nuclear missiles. Later, I transferred to the Washington National Guard. During that time I got married and began my undergraduate studies at North Idaho College (an absolutely beautiful campus on lake Coeur d’Alene). I started as an Electrical Engineering major, but early on I discovered an aptitude and a passion for programming. I switched majors to Computer Science when I transferred to the University of Idaho.
I’m an avid football fan and root for the Seattle Seahawks. I also play guitar, shoot a bow and arrow, bowhunt big game (when I have the chance) and enjoy watching great film, good television, and listening to great music, particularly Progressive Rock. I’m also an avid video game player and a member of Mensa.
I currently work for Nez Perce County as a Programmer Analyst.
